What is aluminum circle?

Usually, aluminum circles and discs are aluminum circle plates that are stamped by machine tools on the basis of aluminum sheets or aluminum coils. According to the aluminum plates or aluminum coils of different processes, we can divide the aluminum circles into hot-rolled aluminum circles(DC), cast-rolled aluminum circles(CC).

According to the different needs of customers for aluminum circles, Xienuo Enterprise's aluminum circles can be produced by die stamping (cutting), blade cutting, forging, etc.

According to different alloy elements, common aluminum discs are: 1000 series, 3000 series, 5000 series, 8000 series aluminum circles, among which, 1050, 1070, 1060, 3003 aluminum cirlces are the most commonly used.

How is aluminum circle made?

According to different production processes, aluminum circle can be divided into hot-rolled aluminum discs, cast-rolled aluminum discs, forged aluminum discs, mirror aluminum discs, etc. The production processes of different types of aluminum discs are different.

DC aluminum circles

DC aluminum circle is an aluminum circle and disc made by hot rolling process.

Process flow:

  1. Preparation of aluminum billets: prepare aluminum billets by casting or continuous casting, and trim and pretreat them.
  2. Preheat, heat the aluminum billet to a suitable temperature to improve its plasticity and workability, usually between 400°C and 500°C. The preheating time depends on the size and thickness of the aluminum billet.
  3. Hot rolling: put the preheated aluminum billet into the rolling mill for hot rolling. Through multiple passes of rolling deformation, it becomes flatter, smoother and more uniform, and reaches the required thickness and diameter.
  4. Cooling and straightening. The hot-rolled aluminum circles and discs need to be cooled and straightened.
  5. Cutting, cut the aluminum circle and disc according to the size required by the customer.
  6. Further processing according to customer needs, such as anodizing, surface polishing, etc.

Hot-rolled aluminum circles and discs are suitable for production scenarios that require secondary deep processing, such as cookware, lamps, etc., but the cost is high and the production efficiency is low.

CC aluminum circles

CC aluminum circle is an aluminum circle and disc made by casting and rolling process.

Process flow:

  1. Preparation of raw materials, chemical analysis and testing of purity aluminum ingots, and then smelting.
  2. Casting, the process of pouring smelted aluminum liquid into a casting mold and forming aluminum discs through cooling and solidification.
  3. Rolling, the aluminum circle and disc is processed through a rolling mill to make it flatter and smoother.
  4. Cutting, cut the aluminum circle and disc according to the size required by the customer
  5. Further processing according to customer needs, such as surface polishing, etc.

Cast-rolled aluminum circles and discs are suitable for applications that do not require high mechanical properties, such as signs, etc., but Cast-rolled aluminum discs have the advantages of low cost and high production efficiency.

Types of aluminum circles and discs

Forged aluminum circle

Forging is a solid-state deformation processing method that uses beating, pressing, forging and other means to form the shape of aluminum discs. The forging production process is a production process centered on the shaping and deformation of forgings, including a series of processing processes

Specific steps are as follows:

  1. Aluminum disc blank: Make the original blank according to the specifications and dimensions required for forging.
  2. Heating: The billet is heated, usually within the recrystallization temperature range of aluminum, generally 400°C to 500°C. to facilitate plastic deformation.
  3. Forging: Put the heated billet into the forging equipment for forging. Through multiple plastic deformations and thermal effects, the aluminum billet becomes flatter, smoother and more uniform, meeting the basic internal and external quality requirements of the aluminum circle.
  4. Cooling: Cool the forged aluminum disc to prevent anodizing and overheating.
  5. Heat treatment: Heat treatment is performed on the cooled aluminum discs to improve their mechanical and physical properties and achieve the required performance.
  6. Inspection: Inspect the finished aluminum discs to ensure their quality.

Compared with hot-rolled aluminum discs, forged aluminum discs require higher temperatures and pressures, as well as more processing steps and stricter process control, so the cost is relatively high.

However, forged aluminum discs have better mechanical properties and surface quality, so they are suitable for some fields with high strength, high precision and high surface quality requirements.

Mirror aluminum circles

Mirror aluminum circles discs are hot-rolled or cast-rolled aluminum circles discs that are further polished to achieve a mirror-like effect.
